Hairband and earrings

This is a cute hairband with pink beads and a pale pink satin ribbon. I modified the patter “Svea” I found in “Tatting Patterns and design” by Gun Blomqvist and Elwy Persson.
I have used white Aida 20 thread

Below I want to show earrings I made yesterday. The pattern I found in "Butterick's Tatting & Netting" from 1896. This is very ancient design, isn’t it? I modifed it a little bit to use as earrings. I have used ecru Aida 20 thread, white pearl beads and sterling silver earwires.

Lovely hair slide

I have been  very busy recently, so today only quick post with picture of tatted flower attached to a white hair slide. It is very girly, isn’t it? I think it would be a pretty First Holy Communion accessory…

Decoupaged jewellery cabinet and various tatted motives

I want to show this shabby chic jewellery cabinet I decorated recently.
I found an old, ugly jewellery cabinet in a charity shop.

I sanded it, and then painted with a cream acrylic paint few times. Later I used a crackle medium to add a distress charm. The next step was to decoupage a lovely rose’s motif from paper napkin. I varnished it several times, sanded between layers and added a beautiful ecru lace. It reminds me past times...  (this one is matching the shelf I made for my sister)

My friend asked me to show how big my tatted earrings are. So I have put a 1 pound coin to show it. Most of these small pieces I tatted last weekend and I have to finish ends….

Playing with beads

It is great fun playing with tatting and beads. Almost everything I have made, my daughter grabs it. That is a good sign that she likes my crafts, isn’t it? Just now I am trying to learn how to use beads in my tatted jewellery. This is not easy, if you have to learn without a teacher. No, of course I have got a lot of great teachers –everybody, who is so kind to share knowledge and passion about tatting! Thank you all very much. I have learnt decoupage from internet, now I am learning to tat– this is really fantastic!

Below are tatted earings with pink shining beads hanged on decoupaged by me jar:

And here we have a small pendant (or a first earring) with cream Swarovski pearls:

Black tatted earrings with red Swarovski crystals

After your lovely comments of my tatted earrings I decided to show a black version with red Swarovski crystals. I would like to ask you a question – do you think this is my desing? Recently I wrote that I have inspiration from the doily I am making now. I change it a little bit to make an earring shape. I am totally beginner in a tatters world, so I don’t have an idea what to think about it...

Earrings

I did not have much time to tat in Easter, but ... yes, I made something! I made lovely ecru earrings with small beads in dirt pink colour. I have been shopping recently and I really love this season trends… There are a lot of lovely pink, gorgeous laces, romantic roses…. When I was making the doily, I loved the motif from it and tried to make earrings with that it. I would like to thank AgaArt for showing me, how to make earrings. Please take a look.
